Our Mission... Devoted to enhancing the lives of financially disadvantaged high school students by making their dreams of attending prom or graduation accessible by providing gowns. The Princess Closet is dedicated to enriching them in the areas of positive self-image, which will foster a brighter future for them. Equipping girls with the knowledge of self presentation to develop future leaders. The Princess Closet is a 501(c)3 under the ministry of St. Pius Church.
Each year the Princess Closet under the ministry of St. Pius Church (www.stpiusvparish.org) along with Modern Wave Salon, A Common Thread, District 7 Police Station and Archer Cleaners (www.archer-cleaners.com), will hold various Dream Day Events for all local High School Juniors & Seniors to find their magical dress. The event will start off with a fashion show displaying some of the donated dresses. Laura, the make-up artist and instructor of Modern Wave Salon (www.modernwavesalon.com) will discuss the latest prom hairstyles and make-up techniques. Jamie Kendall, creator and founder of A Common Thread (www.acommonthread.net), speaks about the best type of dress for the different female body types.
Once the fashion show is completed, the girls are assisted in finding their magical dress. In addition, to the fashion show, the Princess Closet invites various vendors (Avon, MaryKay, JAFRA, etc.) to attend the event. Products are sold to the girls at a discount price.
Our dream day events help the girls not only find a beautiful dress, but also gives them the knowledge and tools they need to complete their unique look and teach them self presentation for future use.
The Princess Closet is designed to promote confidence and self esteem in junior and senior high school girls. Every girl deserves to find the perfect dress for her "magical" prom night.
