The student advisory board is made up of college and high school students volunteers that are discovering the satisfaction of giving back to their community. The students network together to share program ideas, develop creative solutions and offer assistance to the Princess Closet organization in promoting its agenda within the community thus a SAB volunteer will  learn valuable leadership skills.

The student advisory board  meets once  a month to assist the Executive Board in various programs or special events being offered through the Princess Closet.  The student advisory board is chaired by an Executive Board member.

Why should you be a volunteer on the Student Advisory Board?

Princess Closet wants to instill a passion for volunteering in high school and college students. Studies show that young people who engage in community service projects while in high school are more likely to continue serving through their adult years.  Princess Closet is always looking for volunteers year round to help with sorting, hanging dresses, circulating flyers and with the Dream Day Events.  We need new volunteers to help bring about more awareness of our organization services in the community and in local high schools.

What are some of the benefits of becoming a Student Advisory Board Member?

• If you are a high school or college student this type of volunteer work on your resume’ or college application it can put you in   a positive standing for receiving more scholarship awards.
• Meeting and making new friends and learn more about the nonprofit sector.
• Is eligible to apply for the Princess Closet – Davalos Scholarship
• May consider a career that gives back to the community (medical field, non for profit sector, etc.)
• Be a part of the magic that creates dreams for a beautiful milestone in a girl’s life
