What a great way to get high school girls involved in organizing a prom dress collection drive for other young girls that are in need of one. The students will get a sense of accomplishment in helping their peers and having the satisfaction that their efforts are going to make another girl’s prom a magical one.

In addition, the Princess Closet contacts all high schools within the surrounding areas to let them know about our annual gown giveaway event. We would like to have a school employee and/or parent from each school who will agree to help us promote the event. These individuals receive emails with information about the event and are also mailed posters and flyers for distribution. If you would like to be the contact from your high school, please let us know by emailing us at:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Duties

Volunteer Check in/Check Out:
Check in volunteers as they enter for shifts. Assign job responsibilities and give brief overview of job assignments.

Student Registration:
Welcome students, check high school I.D.'s. Provide registration forms to girls to fill out. Direct girls to be seated.

Greeter:
To greet girls, direct to registration area and seating area.

Personal Shoppers:
Assist girls in dress selection, returning unwanted gowns to the proper racks and keeping dressing rooms clutter free.  Once gown is selected, directing girls to the accessory area.

Accessories:
Help organize and run the accessories table.  Work with girls to accessorize them.

Princess Closet’s Frequently Asked Questions

What is expected of me as a volunteer for the Princess Closet?
When you arrive, you will check in at the front desk and you will be given an ID Badge to wear during your volunteer shift   You will also be given your assignment.

Your most important job will be to show grace and love to the girls that come through our doors. While we will be providing them with a complete prom package, it is our primary goal that they have an amazing and unforgettable experience. Your love and kindness is what they will remember long after the dress is worn and the dance over. Your job is to make sure each girl that dances through our doors feels cherished. The only qualification that we have for volunteers at Princess Closet is that you come with an open heart, ready to show complete kindness and grace.

How many girls will come to The Dream Day Events?
This may vary from Event to Event.  Anywhere from 20-100 girls may attend.

What should I wear?
A pink or white shirt, jeans or chinos, and comfortable shoes.

What if I am uncomfortable with my position?
If you feel that you cannot complete your position it is no problem. There are many different responsibilities and opportunities to help out. We are sure that we will be able to find the perfect place for you. It is important that our Cinderella’s and volunteers have the best experience possible.

What if I cannot stay my entire shift?
If for whatever reason you must leave early from your shift, please tell us ASAP. As to not overcrowd what is an already crowded place we have a limited number of volunteers. We also have a very tight schedule to keep. If we know ahead of time we can try to compensate for the end of a missed shift.
